Katie P. -- Showed us a demo of WebDewey, the site we will go to if we need to assign call numbers from scratch. Also discussed workflow changes. Starting Sept. 19, some books will have stickers/slips in them on which we will need to mark the date we first looked at the book.
Evan -- There will be a Senior Wii program on Thursday. Wednesday movies are resuming – next Wed. we will show Jane Eyre.
Kathy P. -- Our new web page is up. Medicare programs will be starting earlier this year as the enrollment dates have moved up.
Marjorie -- The new web page doesn’t not work well with low resolution so she will be changing the font when she is on desk. She will change it back at shift change. There will be a retirement money program on Thursday night.
Susan S. -- She will be attending the senior picnic tomorrow. The ESL class offered through the schools will be using a meeting room on Tuesday and Friday mornings. If you get questions about the class, refer patrons to the schools. The poster contest has ended and the posters will be displayed on the lower level through the end of September.
Frank -- The upper level coin box is still inconsistent on accepting dimes. If one doesn’t work, try another. The home pages for Youth and Teen computers are not coming up. Patrons need to type in the URL they are trying to access until they are fixed. There will be an enhancement on the upcoming version of Envisionware that will indicate to patrons if they have typed in an incorrect PIN.
Barb -- The topic of the DIA program on Sept. 26 will be Native American Art. Needlecrafters also meet that evening. Papercraftapalooza will be on Oct. 1 and kids are welcome to attend.
Cathy L. -- Today there will be a Books & Bites program as well as a Volunteer Orientation. There will be a craft next week. She is working with the schools to encourage kids to sign up for library cards. NHS tutoring will start soon, but we have no date yet. Computer tutoring starts Sept. 24.
Sue P. -- We are awaiting 30 free copies of the Great MI Read book from the MI Humanities Council. Hopefully, they will be here soon. The book is not available in Overdrive.
Pat C. -- New Lost & Found guidelines have been posted on the Clerks’ blog.
Carol -- Memoirs of a Goldfish by Devin Scillian is the new OneState/One Book selection.
Pat T. -- New procedures for monitoring the Teen Zone are being discussed due to the incident in the Teen Zone last week. For now, please check the area at least once per hour and be sure to look into the study room. A lock was installed on the group study door today. Keep the cameras on from 2pm-on and do not hesitate to correct the kids/call for backup/call the police, when necessary. Carry your portable phones with you.
