Holly -- There are still four sign holders for non-fiction collections available. See her if you would like to use one. Holly handed out new procedures for letting teens into the Group Study in the Teen Zone. We will now keep the door locked and hold ID. We will not accept keys, Redbooks, etc. as ID. If they do not have a card, make them an Internet Only card. We can now make these at all service desks. Handouts were passed out re. this new procedure. The cards are non-renewable. Patrons will have 30 days to get a regular library card. Day passes will not be issued except to out-of-towners. Shelf reading is almost done. Please help finish it up.
Tim -- The Censorship talk last night had 19 attendees and went very well. Guys Read was held yesterday and Brown Bag Books will be this Wednesday.
Frank -- He is working on getting the software to install camera viewers on all service desks. A new Print Release Station upgrade is coming.
Sue P. -- The Arc of Justice copies have arrived and are being processed.
Marjorie -- There is a new genre in Cds – “Contemporary Folk”. It will encompass music from the 50s-forward. Marjorie made some suggestions about the new web page: the front page should not contain only programming notices but anything that is new and important and the “Read” tab should have more than just fiction on it. Attendees agreed. She will change the format of the Author program next year so that the authors are out in the public areas. This should generate more foot traffic.
Susan S. -- Please let her know how NHS tutoring is going. There will be a Friends board meeting tomorrow. We will also host a program called Prescription Drugs and Your Child, featuring representative from local police and schools. Let Susan know if you have any projects for her volunteers.
Carol -- There will be a homeschool program tomorrow and a Bats of the World program on Oct. 8.
Alice -- She has received an extraordinary number of compliments about our library recently. Tim has noticed this, as well.
Katie P. -- Workflow changes will start this week. If you want to flag a book as “New”, please put a yellow Post-it Note with “New” sticking out from the top of the book.
Kathy P. -- She has only received two comments from patrons about our new web page redesign. eReaders will be unavailable tomorrow as she is using them for a program out of the building.
In attendance: Bussard, Champagne, Ferguson, Hibner, McCardell, Page, Patterson, Petlewski, Sadler, Sherman, Stoney.
