Pat T. - There is a new shredder in the receiving room for documents with patron names and addresses, program signups, volunteer records, etc. If you are unsure whether to recycle or shred certain documents, see Diane and she will advise you.
Pat C. - Please fill out all fields in caps when issuing Internet Only cards. Use last name first, then a comma, then the first name. Get a middle initial, if possible. Always look up the patron first to see if they already have a card. If you get busy, send the patron to Circ and they will issue the card. Feel free to call the Clerks if you need help with a card.
Sue P. - The Michigan Read has started and the display is up in front of Reader’s Advisory. We will have a speaker form the Historical Society on Oct. 25 and the author himself will speak at the African-American Museum on the 27th. No signup or tickets are required for the author’s talk.
Barb - The Papercraft program went well and will be repeated in December. She will also be doing a joint adult/teen program. Upcoming DIA programs include Colonial Arts and Rembrandt.
Cathy L. - On Friday, the TLN Youth and Teen Services Committee will be meeting here. We will have a Day of the Dead program next month.
Carol - The Bat program was awesome!
Katie - Please continue to give her feedback re. workflow changes. She is working on regaining access to WorldCat for us.
Sue S. - Asked about listing programs from outside groups on our web page. The new display case under the skylights will be used to highlight local residents’ collections. We have been having a problem with groups who have reserved rooms not showing up to use them. Please let her know if you notice a room go unused.
Frank - The scheduled Envisionware upgrade has been cancelled. A newer upgrade will be coming out soon and we will wait to install that. He is working on a new policy that will block our public computers from having images saved to the desktop.
Evan - Upcoming programs this week include: the movie “Everything Must Go” on Wednesday, Senior Wii on Thursday, and the Film Club on Saturday.
Kathy - She has added links to relevant databases from our subject area pages. She asked for feedback on which databases that are included in larger searches like Academic One File should also be listed individually. She has ordered “Access my Library” bookmarks that refer Smartphone users to a Gale app that allows them to access Gale databases without having to use a library card as long as they are within 10 miles of a participating library. Medicare Part D programs start next week.
Alice - She will be off for a few weeks and asks that purchase requests for her areas be given to Holly in her absence.
In attendance: Carter, Champagne, Dinan, Elkin, Ferguson, Hibner, Lichtman, McCardell, Page, Patterson, Petlewski, Sadler, Smale, Stoney, Thomas.
