Reference Meeting Minutes -- 1/24/12

Holly -- The new Fax machine should be here Friday. It will be ready for service in the Copier room on the Main Floor next week.

Dana -- The Muzzy contest ends Friday. Dana has prepared a display for Black History Month. Please replenish books, as needed.

Frank -- Asked if anyone had questions about the changes regarding the Multi-media computer. There were none.

Susan S. -- Asked that we let her know if we get complaints about any of the groups in the meeting rooms being too loud. Susan is working on a Display Case Policy. The High School Photo Club will display their photos next month. The first proof of the Newsletter went out today. Susan informed us that someone has been inserting anti-gay flyers into some of our BookPages and Plymouth Eagle papers. Tim mentioned that he had found some upstairs near his pamphlets.

Katie P. -- Wants to get rid of the DVD and Video Non-fiction collection codes and just use the regular collection codes for these items. There were no objections.

Carol -- The new Nintendo DS games have arrived but are not out yet. They will circulate in their boxes. Carol asked if we have been losing BluRays since they were put into the regular collection and the answer was no.

Barb -- The Papercraft group will meet on Saturday, March 24 instead of the usual Monday per the participants request.

Marjorie -- There will be an Underground Railroad in Michigan program on February 8. It is not in the newsletter, so please promote it.

Sue P. -- We will participate in a more limited way in this year’s MetroNet’s Everyone’s Reading program. The chosen book is Lethal by Sandra Brown. We will participate in the ticket giveaway to hear the author speak on March 22 in Farmington Hills and Rochester Hills. The book discussion groups will not discuss the book, however. February 7 is the 100th anniversary or the birth of Charles Dickens. We will have his works on display on the end panels. For February, there will also be a display of Romance books in the main display area.

Tim -- We have received most of the Federal tax forms and booklets but have no reproducible books or Michigan forms yet.

In attendance: Bussard, Champagne, Dinan, Elkin, Ferguson, Hibner, McCardell, Page, Patterson, Sadler, Sherman, Smale, Stoney, Thomas.
