Holly -- Diane has new Barnes & Noble discount cards that are available for use if you wish to go there to make purchases for your collections. See her if you want to use one. They are not for personal use.
Kathy -- 110 people are signed up for tomorrow night’s eReader program. Due to demand, four eReader classes have been scheduled during February. Both Kathy and Holly will schedule individual appointments with patrons needing intensive assistance. We are maintaining a 5/1 request/hold ratio on eBooks for Plymouth residents. If patrons with Kindle Fires are having difficulty accessing the eBooks, it may be because their devices are automatically accessing our mobile site. They need to use the regular site. They can force their device to do so by adding “/index.php” after the address. Kathy is working with Book Buzz to reactivate our custom booklists. The Gale Powerspeak language database is coming soon.
Susan -- The deadline for newsletter submissions is this Friday. Give her whatever you have so she can plan space. Submissions can be tweaked later. Gave us a heads up that the book Waterland had been improperly pulled from the Plymouth/Cantons Schools due to a parent complaint. It is now under review there. We need new displays for the adult display case. AARP will begin tax preparation here on the first Wednesday of February. As usual, have patrons call the Council on Aging for an appointment.
Marjorie -- So far, 11 authors are signed up for the Author Fair. Sunday’s Drumming program was a big success.
Carol -- Suggested that Librarians add unlocking the ADA doors to our opening procedures.
Barb -- Working on next quarter’s programs.
Tim -- We have received most of the Federal tax forms but no State forms yet. We have Publication 17s but no instruction books. Pub 17s do not contain instructions. Michigan forms are available online. We have blue bookmarks that refer people to the websites for online forms. Canton will be carrying some of the major forms this year.
