Reference Meeting Minutes 8-9-11

Holly -- Shifting of non-fiction will begin on Monday. Feel free to volunteer. Shelf reading will also begin next week; adult non-fiction will be done last. Pizza will be provided at the Sept. 9 staff in-service. A Potluck signup will be posted.

Pat -- We will be eliminating OCLC interloan soon. We have only interloaned 23 items so far this year but have sent 10 times that amount out. Only half of the 23 items were for Plymouth residents. We will switch to Sky River cataloging. TLN and MSU use it and it costs far less than OCLC. We will still be able to access Worldcat.org for Dewey numbers.

Carol -- Youth SRP is over as of tonight. 1630 kids participated. Only Edge numbers were down.

Sue P. -- Adult SRP is over but we still have a few prizes left. Give them out until they are gone. 135 people returned their bingo sheets so far. The staff contest is open until Sept. 9.

Marjorie -- On Sept. 7, Nan Washburn of the Plymouth Symphony will give a talk previewing the Symphony’s upcoming season. This will not be a concert.

Barb -- The DIA programs will move to the 4th Monday of each month. The topics are: Sept. – Native American art; Oct. – Colonial American art; and Nov. – Rembrandt and the Face of Jesus. Scrapbooking will be held on the 1st Monday of each month beginning in November. Scrapbookpalooza will be on Oct. 1.

Cathy L. -- Teen SRP ends tomorrow. There will be a book discussion group tomorrow and Tim will be leading Guys Read after Mark leaves. Volunteers have been shifting in Teen and new non-fiction is now at the beginning of regular non-fiction.

Susan S. -- We have new volunteers working on the indexing project. There were 38 entries in the poster contest. There will be a small reception on Monday for the winners. Posters will go up around the building. The 3rd newsletter proof will be out shortly.

In attendance: Bussard, Champagne, Dinan, Elkin, Ferguson, Hibner, Lichtman, McCardell, Page, Patterson, Sadler, Stoney, Thomas.
