Holly -- The Staff In-service will be held on Sept. 9. We will be closed the 10th for Fall Festival so everyone will be working on the 9th. A representative from MEL will present, and Kristine T. will give a demo of the new web page. Audrey is now handling all B&T orders. Non-fiction is being shifted and Reference has been consolidated to the last row. If the power goes out and the coin boxes do not function properly, you can reset them by unplugging them and then plugging them back in.
Pat -- If someone gets stuck in the elevator and you have to call Otis, leave a clear notice in the Admin area. If an elevator is sealed off with tape, check with Admin before you reset it.
Lauren -- Her last day is Thursday. She anticipates being back at the end of October. In her absence Evan will handle video games, Jen Harper will do purchase requests (leave them on Lauren’s desk), and Dana will facilitate the READ program. 1618 kids signed up for SRP this year.
Susan -- The Friends are still selling SRP t-shirts for $5 each. If Susan is not here, feel free to sell a shirt yourself. Thanked staff for helping out with the Girl Scout book donation campaign. The new Newsletter proof is going around. A new procedure for handling weeded items will be written up. Shelf tags indicating “For Friends Review” and “BWB” will be available to put under your books on the Weed shelf. If you are truly discarding a book, change its status in Horizon and place it in one of the boxes outside the Friends Room. We will have a Garage Sale on Aug. 19-20.
Barb -- Launched a new Cricut (pronounced “cricket”) cartridge collection this week and gave us a demo on how the cartridges are used. The collection is housed on top of the Craft shelves. Circulation criteria is the same as for video games.
Cathy L. -- Teen SRP has fewer registrants than last year. There will be craft programs for the next two weeks, a college program in the Fall, and a “simple comics” program for Teen Read Week.
Kathy P. -- Going to Digipalooza conference this weekend. We will be looking into usage of Book Buzz to see if we want to renew it.
Evan -- Midweek movies will resume in the Fall. Will try having a Wii Bowling program for seniors again.
