Holly -- If you need help with a program, ask Holly for an available Intern or Reference Assistant. If you need help with room setup, continue to ask Pat C. for a Page’s assistance. There is room on the Reference Counter for another button. It was decided that we would simply use “Other”. When you are at RA, don’t use the “Reader’s Advisory” button for all questions, just for those that are truly RA. The results of the TLN Value Survey of MEL Databases is posted on the bulletin board on the lower level.
Pat -- The gas smell that we have been noticing should be subsiding. It is caused by a small release of gas when the boiler cycles on and off. Take all reports of a gas smell seriously, though. Be aware that ice and snow have been sliding off the roof and landing on the bike rack area. The gutters will be fixed in the Spring. The “ghost” noise in the meeting rooms has been identified – it is the failing sump pump motor and it will be fixed as soon as the parts arrive. There will be a log at RA on which we should note all disciplinary interactions we have with teen Bayley Cutshaw.
Kathy P. -- Shared a patron compliment on our non-fiction collections. Working on brochures re. downloading ebooks. Needs all ebook readers returned by March 16.
Carol -- There is still room in the storytimes. Please write legibly. Carol’s phone is currently not working so Gtalk her if you need her. The March into Reading storytime with guest readers is open to everyone.
Evan -- Showing The Fighter on March 16 and There Will Be Blood on the 26th. New Wii bowling league will start March 17. No signups yet.
Lauren -- READ went very well again last night. We may be adding additional days for this program.
Katie -- We will be making telemessaging calls on Sundays now. If you see a problem with Horizon, no matter how small, please do not hesitate to let her know about it.
Sue P. -- We will begin signup on March 14 for tickets to the Michael Connelly presentations. Limit two tickets per patron. He will be speaking at two locations on the same day so make sure you sign the patron up for the one they wish to attend. Sue will call them re. tickets.
Barb -- The DIA program had 30 attendees last night. Next month’s program is “Threads” (textile art) and the final one, in May, will be “Egypt”. The next Papercrafts group program will feature spring cards and a sports craft page.
Tim -- The IRS asks that we not request more forms until we have received all the forms from the initial order. Tim suggests that we not ask people to make reminder phone calls on Sundays as it is just too busy.
Cathy L. -- The Kitty Fort program went well. This Saturday is the first U-M Careers in Science program. Nineteen kids are signed up.
Ron -- Asked if there was any other place to find MI tax forms besides the reproducible book and the state web page. There is not.
Marjorie -- The Author Fair will be held April 2. We are not accepting any more authors for this year. If you get more calls from authors, she will put them on a list to speak at next year’s program.
