Pat -- We have had a request from an elderly couple to have a “family bathroom”. When the couple comes to the desk and asks for this accommodation, if Admin staff is available, notify them and they will handle it. Otherwise, get someone from the back room to put an Out of Order sign on whichever public restroom is empty, let them in, and watch the door until they are done.
Katie -- The Fine Schedule on the Intranet has been updated. It includes info on limits and fees. If a patron is unhappy with the replacement cost they are quoted for a lost/damaged item, the collection area librarian will decide what to charge and notify both the patron and the clerk.
Marjorie -- Sixteen authors are scheduled for Saturday’s Author Fair.
Susan S. -- If you notice a group not showing up for a scheduled meeting room, please let her know. The Dollhouse exhibit will wrap up in 10 days. The Volunteer Lunch will be held on April 14. Signups are full for Thursday’s Blood Drive. Have patrons who still wish to donate call the Red Cross. The Chamber Showcase will be on May 23.
Sue P. -- Still taking signups for the Michael Connelly tickets. OK to start a waitlist.
Cathy L. -- The first science program didn’t take place but the second program, from 1:30-4 on April 16, will cover information from both of the first two scheduled programs.
Tim -- Brown Bag Books will discuss The Lincoln Lawyer tomorrow. Schedule A’s are on order.
Lauren -- Her twins are Girls! The READ program is being expanded to the second Monday of each month, as well, starting April 11. We will eventually have three sessions per month. Spring Break programs: Edge – comic book artist is coming; ages 5-12: Create Your Own Book Page. We will have a Homeschool program featuring the Howell Nature Center on April 12.
Frank -- Tech staff will soon upgrade the rest of the Upper Level computers. More RAM has been installed in the color printer so printing should go more quickly. The Upper Level coin machine was not accepting $5 bills. It was due to improper filling of the coin box and the problem has been resolved. There was a discussion about whether to stop accepting $5 bills so as to not inadvertently deplete the coin supply and it was decided that we would continue to accept them in order to not inconvenience patrons.
Evan -- The Film Club will be viewing There Will Be Blood on Saturday.
Alice -- The Gardening/Landscaping program series will be running at 7pm on Thursdays in April and the first Thursday in May.
Kathy -- There is now a link on our homepage that patrons may click on for help with their eReaders and eBooks. We have a new Financial Services database which replaces print copies of our insurance and bank rating reference books. The Overdrive consortium will be discussing allowing libraries to add additional copies of eBooks for use by their own patrons.
Group Discussion -- Spring is here and we are experiencing more issues with our teen patrons. Kids are branching out onto the Upper and Lower levels. We should try to have double coverage on desks after school when possible. Please come out even if you are not on desk and walk around and create a physical presence. Also check the bathrooms regularly as issues have been arising in them, as well.
