Holly -- We will be implementing an automated reference counter in March. You simply select which desk you are at at the beginning of the day, and then when you get a question, determine what “type” it is and “click”. Reference Chat will not work if launched from Firefox. Make sure to open it from within Explorer. Reminded us that if we need to help a patron print something, we can use their flash drive at the Job Search computer and print from that printer. Our eBook Readers are now housed in the bottom left drawer of the RA desk facing the dvds. The drawer will be locked and the key will be labeled “E”. You can let patrons compare them but please make sure they do not wander off.
Carol -- Asked for a barcode reader for the Youth Envisionware desk.
Tim -- No word on when we will receive 1040 instructions. All 1200 Pub 17s are gone and 300 more are on order. Reproducible tax forms are at Reference and the Main Level Copy Room. State tax forms are available.
Cathy L. -- The Bento Box program went well. Will have a Kitty Fort program on March 7.
Susan S. -- Asked for program attendance numbers.
Kathy P. -- For patrons to download Project Gutenberg books onto their eReaders here at our Download Station, they must bring their own USB cable and download from the catalog, not Overdrive. This will work for Kindles, too.
Marjorie -- Will have a Bright Nights “Depression After 60” program here in two weeks. Rhapsody makeup concert will be held on Saturday, Feb. 26. The Scrapbook program was a huge success. The Scrapbookers Group will now meet from 6-8:30 on the 4th Mon. of each month and will feature a speaker. Gave the TLN Adult Services report.
Frank -- Will disable the crash protection feature on IE this week. This feature created privacy issues by allowing patrons to restore previous sessions when the log in. Will implement a feature that clears the browser history when the browser is closed, as well.
Lauren -- READ is going well and the waitlist keeps growing. If a patron wishes to contact the dog handler, take their name and number and give it to Lauren. She will forward it to the handler.
Sue P. -- In March/April we will be participating in Everyone’s Reading. This book selection is Michael Connelly’s Lincoln Lawyer. It will be read by both book groups and there will be an author appearance for which we will be giving away tickets. There will also be a movie ticket giveaway when the film based on the book is released.
