Procedure for Getting Help for Programs

1. If you need help with programming, see your supervisor. Detail exactly what you need help with and at what time, day, and duration.

2. If the supervisor grants your request, she will find available and interested staff members and volunteers with the appropriate skills to help you.

3. In most cases, Interns will be asked first, followed by Reference Assistants and Substitute Librarians. Pages and volunteers may also be asked to help with programming in a limited capacity. This will depend on the nature of the help needed, as well as the time, day, and duration of the program.

4. Staff are welcome and encouraged to attend programs outside of work hours as patrons. They are not allowed to volunteer for programs at their workplace due to state law.

Effective 8/4/2014
