Holly We have several tote bags from Mango Languages. They will be at Reader’s Advisory. Feel free to give them to patrons who need a bag.
Carol S. We will be getting new weather emergency supplies. A weather radio will be kept at the Circulation Desk and Circ staff will let the Librarian-in-Charge know of any emergency alerts. Emergency supplies such as a weather radio, flashlights, first aid supplies, walkie talkies, etc. will be kept in bags at Circ and in Holly’s office. Our circulation statistics for physical items are down. Try to think of ways to boost circulation. Carol is working on addressing long-term building issues such as HVAC, roof, elevators, etc. We are hiring an architect to help determine what needs to be done and in what order. Work will likely commence this Fall. Please let Carol know of issues you think need to be addressed.
Lauren We have 374 children registered for the youth SRP so far and have been getting positive feedback on having the Edge program online. Tickets for Cirque Amongus will be available next week.
Marjorie Our Wednesday evening, 4-part film/music series will begin soon and run through August. We will have the Alexander Technique stress reduction program next week.
Barb 170 teens have signed up already for the teen SRP. When helping teens register, please start them at the Teen Zone page so that they get used to looking for the Question of the Day. We have 11 teens registered for the scavenger hunt on Thursday.
Sue P. More than 50 adults have signed up for SRP and three have already turned in their bingo games! Please help promote the adult SRP. Contemporary Books meets tonight.
Dana She reminded us that children in the RTM program get the same prizes as the older SRP kids. Ask parents if they want the little ones to get those prizes or if they would prefer a sticker.
Tim Chess Club meets today. It has a steady group of 7-10 kids.
Alice As of yesterday, The Wayne County Library for the Blind and Physically Handicapped is being staffed by one full-time librarian and two part-time interns. They will not be able to offer a SRP but will be filling regular patron requests. Please advise patrons that there may be longer waits for service now.
Kathy We have a large influx of new teen ebooks in Overdrive, including popular books as well as classics and modern classics. A new portal called the Teen eReading Room will be up next week. We are now purchasing some patron-recommended ebooks.
Katie Tuesday at 2pm there will be a SIRSI/Dynix mobile circ and Blue Cloud Analytics demo in the Friends Room.
Susan S. Susan created a new one-page flyer promoting our SRPs that has been put up on some of the school websites. The Matt Bell author program went very well, despite low attendance. She will be training new volunteers. If you have any Sept-May room requests for programs, let her know within the next two weeks.
