This patron will setup his notebook on the teen internet tables or the lab tables or adult internet tables and disconnects our ethernet cable and will plug this into his notebook computer to get on our network. We have videos from our security cameras showing him doing this.
I don't know what he is doing but under NO circumstances, for ANY reason, are patrons allowed to disconnect library computers or equipment and use our ethernet connections to plug in their personal computers on our network.
We have wired internet connections for patron use on the upper level in the study rooms. This is the ONLY place patrons are allowed to plug in their computers into our network. Otherwise they can use our wireless.
Please call Kristine or myself right away if you see this. If we are not here please inform this patron to remove their note book immediately. Do not wait until the library closes or allow him to finish what he is doing. Their connection must be disconnected immediately.
If this patron refuses I would suggest to "call the police".
