Holly The fireplace has a timer that shuts it off after six hours. Therefore, around 3:00, it needs to be turned on again. Subs have been asked to commit to a minimum of 10 hours per quarter. We will have more subs regularly scheduled now.
Kathy P. Next week’s Medicare Part D program is filled. We will not be putting tablets out on the eReader display anymore since some patrons figured out how to download games and charge them to the library’s account. We will have no computer classes or eReader users group in December. There will, however, be a program on choosing an eReader on Dec. 12.
Susan S. We will be a drop-off site for cleaning supplies for the Hurricane Sandy relief effort. The Friends ask that we please keep an eye out for patrons taking books from the book donation area. Carol added that the Friends asked that if we leave a note for them, to please sign and date it.
Marjorie Signup sheets for Dec. programs are in the binder. Marjorie attended a Caregiver Expo last month and met some good potential speakers. She asked how long B&T backorders items. Katie thinks it is 6 months but will confirm. UPDATE: Katie confirmed that unfilled orders are cancelled 5 months after the announced publication date.
Carol There will be three special drop-in storytimes in December celebrating Hanukkah, Christmas, and Kwanzaa.
Lauren She is getting lots of positive feedback about the READ program. Please transfer callers asking about it to her.
Cathy L. She gave a brief MLA report and is willing to work a Sunday in Dec. for anyone who wishes to be off.
Tim He asked about our cellphone policy on the upper level. We will check and make sure that the appropriate signs are in place.
Frank He expects to have Envisionware upgraded by the end of the year. This upgrade will make printing faster and will address a pop-up problem related to Windows 7. Frank is working on updating Joe’s old job description so that it can be posted.
Barb Gave her MLA report. She told us about Mitalent.org, which is a new job bank for Michigan workers. She did a papercraft display.
Sue P. The National Book Group Month survey winner has been chosen and Sue will attend one of their meetings and present them with their prize. The results of the survey indicated that groups would like to see us offer more kits for their use. She has recently had to address porn viewing issues with two patrons.
