Holly -- Conducted a drawing for the two available cubicles. Winners were Evan and Suzy. The building keys have been moved to the second overhead bin in the Secretary’s area. Independence Village is looking for programming. If you have any ideas, let Susan S. know.
Katie -- Working on Horizon changes.
Carol -- Storytimes started this week. Please write legibly when signing kids up. The first U-M science program is over, and there are two more coming up.
Susan S. -- Submissions for the next newsletter should be in by Tues., 1/18.
Frank -- The Envisionware migration will occur in the last week of January. Carol suggested that we make sure to have double coverage on Ref. during that floor’s conversion.
Suzy -- The Parade of Preschools will be on Feb. 3. If people call looking for tables, tell them to come at 6 pm. Will be starting a K-2 book group. The first meeting will be at 2 pm on Feb. 19 with the theme of “War of the Worlds” and will include a craft. Kids must come in to the library to get the book Aliens are Coming. Program is limited to 30 children.
Tim -- As he becomes aware of new tax information, he will send out emails. The IRS is not sending forms to homes anymore. Discussion ensued as to whether to put a limit on how many pages we will print for patrons. The conclusion is that we will use our best judgement.
Cathy L. -- Yesterday’s cupcake program went well. Will be having a video game program, as well as a blanket making program to benefit the U-M Cancer Center.
Kathy P. -- Will be having an eReader program on Jan. 19. Needs to collect all the eReaders ASAP. After the program, feel free to familiarize yourself with them again.
Evan -- Will be showing The Social Network next week. Is starting a “Film Club” at 1 pm on the 4th Sat. of each month where you watch a movie and then discuss it.
