Internet Librarian Preconferences, Day Two
My assignment for the day was to graduate from Podcasting & Videocasting Boot Camp. Hmmm... this might be tough. David Lee King and David Free led us through an intense morning of learning how to create, edit, save, and upload both audio and video files to the web. We looked at examples of how libraries use podcasts and/or videocasts to conduct booktalks, training sessions, and library promotion tools. Once we had a clear idea of why they are useful, we then learned how to use the hardware and software to create them. Several of us took part in creating a practice audio and then uploaded it to David Free's blog as well as blip.tv. It was great fun and I'm already thinking of lots of reasons why PDL should be making our own videos for You Tube and podcasts.

I would love to have podcasts on the teen page as well as other web 2.0, eg. book/ cd/ movie reviews
