MORE New Database Trials

This must be the time of the year when vendors think we all want new products! Anyway, you have several products to consider:

1. World News Digest (Facts on File) we are currently receiving in print format. They now offer it online for less money than print. It includes remote access and has 60 years of backfile included. There is twice the information as in the print version and is updated hourly by Reuters. (This makes me feel that our print version is really overpriced!!)

2. Issues and Controversies (Facts on File) is another one we currently get in print format. Again, it is cheaper on-line and includes remote access.

3. Read-Alongs from Tumblebooks - This is a neat product! These are online books that are also read out loud. All age levels are included, from childrens & YA books through adult. There are Shakespearean works also. This collection is aimed at "emergent, struggling, and reluctant readers, as well as being an excellent tool for ESL." It has a bright, colorful screen that is easy to use.
