The meeting began with a presentation by Karen Bitterle of the Michigan Small Business Development Center at Schoolcraft College on resources that they have available to assist both startups and established businesses. In brief, we can refer patrons to them for free one-on-one counseling, low-cost education and training, and market research. Small businesses are defined as < $5 million. Holly All citizenship materials can now be found in the ESL collection. We need a volunteer to start attending the TLN Adult Services Committee meetings starting in August. They are held on Monday mornings several times a year. Let her know if you would like to go.
Carol S. If you create a program flyer, please leave a copy in her mailbox. Red Wing Darren McCarty will be here sometime in June to do a book signing.
Tim Tax season is winding down.
Susan S. We will be giving away an iPad Mini at the Chamber Showcase next Monday.
Barb The ArtZine will be out tomorrow. Central Middle School will be visiting us tomorrow. The Plymouth Canton Community Arts Council will be starting new teen art programs this summer. Someone from the Council may come help us make a video to promote Teen SRP.
Sue P. Contemporary Books will be discussing Before You Know Kindness tonight. There are still tickets available for the author talks. We will have a related program on April 24 featuring a speaker from the Humane Society of Huron Valley.
Marjorie Adult SRPs were discussed at yesterday’s TLN Adult Services Committee meeting. We had 23 authors participate in the Author Fair. We will have a Money Smart program this week.
Carol C. There will be a “Made in Michigan” theme to our Homeschool program on April 17. The Lego Club will not meet this summer. We had a youth Money Smart program last week.
