Pat She went over the process for selecting the new director. Of the 29 applicants for this position, four current Michigan library directors have been chosen for interviews: Tina Hatch, Milford; Bill Harmer, Chelsea; Dave Ewick, Southfield; and Carol Souchock, Adrian. Interviews will be conducted on Saturday in the Walldorf Room, will be 90 minutes each, and will be open to the public. If you have questions you would like asked, you will have the opportunity to submit them to Marianne Hartzel before the first interview. She will be asking all the questions. The Board will try to make a decision immediately following the interviews. Pat will retire on September 20 and the new director will start sometime shortly after that.
Holly She asked us to let Katie know if we would prefer to receive our purchase alerts weekly or monthly.
Tim Chess Club is today; Brown Bag Books, tomorrow. He is about to order materials for Banned Books Week. If you want to order anything, let him know.
Katie She will be getting new System Administrator training in the fall and will then provide further training to the staff. Regarding reports, she will make templates available to us so that we can run our own reports at our convenience.
Kathy The new template is done and the new web page is up. We are trying to do as little customization as possible so that future upgrades will be easier. Please keep any comments coming. Our next step is to get more mobile-friendly. Kathy will be on vacation for much of August. We will have no computer classes until September. Tim will do a new class on using LinkedIn. Information on the state’s My Big Green Gym program will be up on our web page shortly.
Lauren There is an Edge program tonight. Please check ages when registering children for programs.
Sue P. Adult SRP is going well but Evanced signups are low. Please encourage participation. We have given out more than 100 prizes already. We are out of Penn Theater tickets but will have more on Thursday.
Barb Playaways and cdbooks will soon be interfiled in the Teen Zone. We will be having a new teen-led SciFi/Fantasy book discussion group. When Alaina leaves, Kerri will take over the College Bound book discussion group. Teen SRP registration is down but participation in programs is strong.
