Holly Earbuds have been ordered and should be available soon. Feel free to extend patrons’ time on the computers if no one is waiting. Librarians are going to be encouraged to help patrons sign up for the Affordable Care Act. Holly will keep us informed as things progress. We will also continue to help patrons with Medicare Part D. There has been some shifting of collection responsibilities: Sarah will now handle 700-779. Alice will take all of Home Improvement and Gardening/Landscaping and whoever replaces Barb will get Job Search, College Search, and all of Crafts. Until a replacement is found, please give all of those requests to Holly.
Pat Director position interviews will take place on Saturday July 27 and will be open to the public. The full Library Board will conduct the interviews. We will be offering candidates tours of the library that day, as well. All candidates are currently directors at other Michigan libraries.
Carol 1250 kids have signed up for SRP so far. Non-fiction game participation is up. Tonight’s Edge program is full. Young Rembrandts and Mummy programs are coming up. We have had the first harvest of the Children’s Garden. Drop-in storytimes are going well.
Sue P. 100 people have signed up online for the Adult SRP. We have given out 50 prizes so far. Patrons can now reserve Book Club Kits online so there is no need to fill out the green slips anymore. They can no longer request a particular date and there will be no renewals. Kits still circulate for 8 weeks. If patrons have questions about this, give them Sue’s number.
Marjorie If there is a hold on an item that you are marking missing, make sure you go through all the steps, including the hold override, to really mark it missing. Holds will again be able to be placed on music cds as of tomorrow.
Susan S. July 18 is the next newsletter deadline. Through the end of August, we are accepting donations of new socks and underwear (both adult and children’s sizes) for the Foster Closet of Michigan. The collection box is near the front door. Susan will order more Penn Theater tickets for use as SRP prizes. We will have a sewing display in the display case in September.
Alice Gave a brief report of the ALA Conference. The full report will be posted on the bulletin board outside the Staff Lounge.
