Reference Meeting Minutes -- 3/27/12

Carol -- Brandon Mull, author of the Fairhaven series, will be signing books in the Storytime Room on Saturday morning.

Susan S. -- On April 3-5, we may see more Internet traffic as Canton’s computers will be down. Due to budget problems, Westland will reduce its hours and close on Sundays and Mondays. If middle schoolers come in looking to volunteer for only a couple of hours, send them to Susan. We are expecting the concrete on the ramp to be repaired this week.

Sue P. -- Everyone’s Reading is officially over. We gave away 32 tickets to the author talk.

Cathy L. -- Teens approached Cathy about restarting TAB and they had their first meeting on Saturday. They have some good ideas. There is a new STEM webpage.

Marjorie -- The Author Fair will be from 1-3 this Saturday. The list of authors/books is on the webpage.

Barb -- Her programs are being very well attended. She has a new volunteer helping with the crafts. Her MLA workshop Print-to-Digital was a success.

Frank -- Tech staff will be testing the battery backups on the service desks. Frank asked if patrons have been asking for access to different browsers. The answer was no. Tech staff will install new staff PCs with Windows 7 on them soon. They will have IE, Firefox, and Google Chrome installed.

Alice -- Attended PLA in Philadelphia and encouraged staff to read her report.

Kathy P. -- Harry Potter is arriving on Overdrive but will not be offered for Kindles. Kathy will have two eBook download classes in April. She is also working on a Titanic-themed web page.

In attendance: Champagne, Dinan, Elkin, Ferguson, Lichtman, McCardell, Patterson, Petlewski, Sadler
