Kathy P. -- Our consortium has updated the look of our Overdrive interface. In the main search box, you now have the option to “show only titles with available copies.” The software box has moved to the top of the page. There is a new “My Help” box to assist people with no prior knowledge of ebooks. It asks them what device they are using and takes them step-by-step through the process of acquiring an ebook. Options have been streamlined under “Getting Started.” There is a new “Buy it now” button that enables patrons who do not want to get on a wait list to purchase a copy of the book for themselves. In a couple of weeks, we will add the Disney Digital Storybook Collection, which contains over 500 titles that are always available. People can view them online with a computer. They are not downloaded.
Marjorie -- When weeding a gift book, simply remove the plated title page and discard it. There is no need to give it to Marjorie. The final Investing Fundamentals program will be tonight.
Alice -- The first Landscaping program had 67 attendees. There are still four programs to go. Thursday’s topic is Rain Gardens.
Tim -- We are out of State of Michigan tax forms. Canton still has some. They do not have Federal forms.
Cathy L. -- There will be a video game program this week. Spring break programs include board games and a movie. Parts1 & 2 of the U-M science program will be this Saturday. Suggests doing book talks if we have a short meeting.
Evan -- Due to popular demand, we will show The King’s Speech both this month and next month. There will be no movies shown this summer. They will resume in the Fall.
Barb -- Has put out a list of AARP locations taking walk-ins for tax preparation.
Holly -- Output Measures seem to be working smoothly. Our numbers are in line with last fall’s. Information on the Foursquare check-in game will appear in the next newsletter.
Susan S. -- The Volunteer Luncheon will be at 11:30 this Thursday. Susan will submit the newsletter to Foresight later this week. She will be out of town from April 19-25. If you have meeting room requests, make them now. We will be displaying an art exhibit from the schools.
Dana -- School break programs include Make Your Own Picturebook and Drawing Comics.
Pat C. -- Marissa, a new Page, will start Thursday. Ashton and Jesyka will begin working the upper level Page Desk starting next week.
Pat T. -- The mileage chart will be removed from the Intranet. Please print out Google or Mapquest mileage when submitting a mileage report.
